Adoption Blog

Hey- I just wanted to do a quick post to say that I've added on my sidebar the link to an adoption blog that belongs to a friend of mine. She and her husband have one sweet little boy, but are hoping to adopt another child as well. If you know anyone who is thinking about placing a baby for adoption, please have her check out this link: www.familyhopingtogrow.blogspot.com

Thanks!

Antelope Island

On Sunday we drove out to Antelope Island; I had never been there before, and it was a lot of fun! We just hiked and enjoyed the beautiful weather. We walked out to the water and spent a long, long time skipping rocks into the water. We also had a little picnic dinner. Miles did a great job hiking; he had to climb up and over every rock he could find, big or small.

We kept trying to get Miles to smile for the camera, but he just didn't get it. We'd say "show us your teeth" and this is the face we'd get:

Here's another one:

At the very end of the hike, poor Miles took a tumble and did a face plant in the gravel. His forehead got a little roadrash, but other than that our trip was great!

Here is a little video of Miles' rock-climbing skills. He would avoid the nice, fairly smooth, gravel trail, and look for any big(ish) rock to climb up and over. He would criss-cross the trail, or even backtrack to find a rock to climb over. Pretty funny.

The Kiddos...

My kids really crack me up sometimes. They love to play together, and Miles will do ANYTHING that he sees Tess do. The other day they decided to pull out their Winter Stuff and play around the house. Miles did his best to put his hat on and it looked so cute!
This next picture happened just yesterday. They were all dressed for the day, breakfast was over, and then they decided to play like it was bedtime. So they put blankies and pillows on the floor of the family room and wanted to change back into jammies. I told Tess that I didn't care, but that SHE had to change Miles' clothes because I didn't want to. A few minutes later he came be-bopping out in these... Oh well, I'm sure there will come a day when Tess wants to paint his fingernails or put makeup on him!
Last night Tess had a bit of a mishap...years ago when she was just learning how to walk she fell and chipped off the corner of her front tooth and ever after that, she has cut her lips easily if she falls down; I think it's the jagged tooth that is like a little knife in her mouth. Anyway, last night after dinner she was messing around on her chair and fell off, hitting her mouth on the edge of the table. Her tooth cut a gash right THROUGH the skin below her lip, from the inside-out! I was pretty freaked out, so we called our trusty family doctor--Bryan's big sis! She suggested that because it wasn't very big, we could just SuperGlue it together at home. Here's a picture of the glued-up chin (sorry for the up-the-nose shot...) The wound actually looks very good, and I'm sure it will heal fine; I think it's just the thought that the tooth went clear through that wigged me out! (ps-Thanks, Jennifer!)
One more funny story... Tess and I were walking through the pillow aisle at Ross the other day when she noticed a pillow with tassels on the corners. She said, "look Mom, this pillow is graduating!"
