January Happenings

Our kids fight a lot, like all kids, but they are also best buddies a lot too!  I cherish those moments!  Here they are giving a crazy 3-way hug...
...and snuggling up on a Sunday afternoon. (Miles still immediately changes into his jammies right after church, and our church now gets over at noon.  Ha!)

Bree has a pillow/dog that wraps around a rolled-up blanket...or her head.

Bree is learning how to write really well and so we find little notes from her all over the house.  She placed this note on the shower curtain when she was taking a shower ("Bree is in here if you need me.")

And finally, we were invited over to our friends' house for a Super Bowl party.  When they asked what food we would bring to share, Bryan pulled out this can and texted a picture to them.  The back story on this can of squid is that when Bryan first started travelling occasionally for work, he would bring me a souvenir from each trip.  One time he went to Seattle and brought this home as a joke.  It has sat in our pantry for probably 10 years--even moved with us from Riverdale.  I am sure that it was gross to begin with, but now after 10 years I'm sure it would be dangerous to even eat it.  Yuck!

Snowmageddon

Northern Utah got slammed with snow this year!  Here in Hooper we got a lot, even enough to have a late start day at school yesterday, to give people extra time to shovel out.  Cities in Cache and Box Elder Counties got so much that they closed school for 2 days!  (Even USU cancelled class one day, which almost never happens!)

Bryan loves to plow the snow with our four-wheeler, because afterwards he always has fun driving around the neighborhood.  Usually he will pull our kids on the sled, but this time, he pulled our neighbor Kyle from across the street. And then Kyle pulled Bryan.  Just two big kids (in grown men's bodies!)

Meanwhile, in the backyard, Bree and Tess made a fun snowman with croquet arms....
...and Miles and Tess played outside in the snow.
(I took all these pics from the porch and/or deck....I'm not a snow-lover at all, so I like to stay warm in the house.)

Happy 37th Birthday to Bryan!

Happy birthday to this wonderful man of mine!  37 years ago the world became a little better.  He is kind, funny, so so smart, hard-working, and fun-loving.  I couldn't ask for a better partner in this life.  I'm lucky to have him!

(And he was lucky to get not one, but two, of his favorite birthday treats--banana cream pie!  One at our house, and one at his parents' house.  Yum!)
