St. Patrick's Day began with a visit from the leprechauns. They left us a lovely rainbow breakfast of fruit, green fruit dip, and (chocolate) gold at the end of the rainbow.
Here are the kiddos in their pinch-proof shirts...
Bree is always asking for her face to be painted and I'm a giant dud of a mom because I always say no. It's always at a place like Lagoon, where it's such a rip-off, and it takes up lots of valuable ride-riding time. Plus, I remember having my face painted as a kid and it was so dang itchy and miserable that I always hated it later. So I always say no. But I feel like a meany mom, so I asked if Bree wanted me to paint her face for preschool on St. Patrick's Day. She was super happy. It's just a little clover and pot of gold--nice and easy for a non-artist like me. She looked super cute!

In other news....since we got home from Florida, we have ALL (except Tess) been so sick, in one form or another! We all got some crazy awful bug that affected us all differently. Poor Bree started and was barfy and had diarrhea for a few days, Then Miles caught it and was super barfy for about 4 days. I had it but just had a really bad chest cold and cough. I coughed and coughed for about 3 weeks before finally getting on antibiotics. Then Bryan also caught the cough, which lasted forever again until
he got on antibiotics. Each of us was super achy and exhausted too. It was the pits! But the worst part of the whole thing was poor Bree (round 2)...she had a puffy eye, but it wasn't red or weepy so I gave her allergy meds and didn't take her in for pink eye. But then a few days later it started getting more red so I took her in and they gave drops for pink eye. Usually those drops start helping a lot within a day or two, but Bree's eye was just not looking any better at all. After about 6 days of drops, I took her back in (to our regular doc this time, not instacare) and the doc said it was
not conjunctivitis but instead it was periorbital cellulitis, meaning "around the eye." If it progressed to
orbital cellulitis ("in the eye") then it could cause permanent damage and even blindness! Yikes! I was very freaked out. She was given really strong antibiotics that she had to take for 14 days to kill every bit of the bacteria. Thankfully after all that she got 100% better. I'm so grateful for modern day medicine!
