March Happenings

Here are a few random snapshots of things this month:

Bree loves to play with Play-Doh and she'll play and play for hours!  Tess joined in the fun and made our family out of cookie cutters.  It's kind of hard to see but it does have a man, woman, girl, boy, and baby with "Terry Family" punched in as well.

When we finally did get a little snowstorm Miles made a small snowman with his friend Cristian.

I like to take Bree to the Treehouse Children's Museum once in a while.  (I should go more often!  She loves it when we're there!)  Here she is riding in a sailboat.

Here she is serving me a cheese sandwich at the diner.

Another creative outlet for Tess...we have some Moon Sand that she sculpted to look like Miles's little monkey "Curious George."

The school hosted its Math Night this month.  One of the kids' favorite stations was the marshmallow-toothpick creation station.

And finally, for St. Patrick's Day, the leprechauns visited us and left a little rainbow with a pot of gold at the bottom.  And the kids looked cute in their new shirts which I bought last year on March 18th for 50 cents at Walmart!  Score!  (They say Peace Love Irish, The Leprechaun made me do it, and Shamrock & Roll) :)

First Campfire

It's so nice when it warms up enough and the snow melts in the mountains enough to have a campfire up the canyon.  This year has been so light on snowfall that we were already able to go!  We went up Bountiful Canyon and roasted hot dogs and S'mores last night.  It was a little bit chilly and there was still some snow, but we had a really fun time.

"Chip!"

Tess was playing at a friend's house on their climbing dome when she slipped and bammed her mouth into the bar.  She chipped her front (permanent!) tooth.  She was pretty upset and we all thought that there was a little sliver of the broken-off tooth jammed up in between her 2 front teeth.  It's hard to tell in this picture but it did look that.  Fortunately that wasn't the case, but unfortunately what we were seeing was that there was a little section off the front of the tooth that was shaved off, clear up under her gums.  So the corner was completely gone and the center section had a slice gone from up the middle (hard to explain...)

Of course this happened on a Saturday night when dentists are closed but we were able to get in to the dentist on Monday morning.  They x-rayed it and decided they could probably fix it with a filling.  Tess kind of liked all the attention and she liked showing her friends her crazy tooth.  We started calling her "Chip" and she seemed to like that too.

Here she is afterward--it looks so great!  I'm so grateful for skilled dentists who can repair teeth so well!  They said that because it's right in the front, she'll need to be careful about chomping into any hard things (apples, carrots, etc.) because the filling could easily break out.  She will eventually need a crown but they don't do those on children, so she'll probably get it when she's 18 or so.
