The first week

Bree is already over one week old! She is such a joy to us. So far she's still in the eat-sleep-poop phase with little crying; it's terrific. Each day she's awake for just a little bit longer during the day but she continues to sleep at night, other than to eat of course. (Knock on wood....) We keep expecting her to have long crying periods during the night like the other two kids did, but so far, so good. She's crying more during the day, but it's so much easier to deal with at 3:00 in the afternoon compared to 3:00 in the morning! So, I'll take it! Here are a few photos of her this week. She loves to lace her fingers together. (Did I mention she has long, skinny fingers and long skinny feet! Maybe she'll play the piano and have big feet like her mom!)

Bryan had the whole week off last week and it was so fabulous for him to be home. He mainly took care of Tess & Miles so that Bree and I could do what we needed to (eat-sleep-poop, etc.) We were very spoiled with great dinners from family and ward members and Bryan had a blast with the older kids. One day they drove out to the desert to go tarantula hunting. I must admit that I was very happy that they came home empty-handed. However, they did find what Bryan said was the biggest Black Widow he had ever seen! Yuck! I'm glad I was home with Bree.

Also that day, they took Bryan's .22 out for some shooting practice. Tess & Miles had never done that before and they thought it was just fantastic. They both loved shooting, and they even went out again later during the week with Bryan's sister and her family. What cute little rednecks we are raising!

Father's Day was eventful for Tess... We had Stake Conference and Bryan didn't really want to go and sit through it with the 2 older kids (who can blame him?) and I wasn't about to take Bree yet, so we just stayed home and hung out. Tess has had a very loose tooth for several weeks now and we keep encouraging her to let us yank it out. Finally on Father's Day, we talked her into it. Bryan got some dental floss and tied it around the tooth. Before Tess (or I) even knew it he yanked so quick and so hard that the tooth went flying! Miles found it on the carpet and Tess was really wigged out (by the pain, but mostly by the blood in her mouth). I don't think it hurt her too badly, but I think the sight of the blood made her freak a little bit. After the initial shock wore off, she got pretty excited about the tooth fairy coming. I bought a wonderful little "tooth fairy pillow" that hangs on her doorknob with a picture of a tooth monster on it. He holds the tooth in a pocket until the tooth fairy can come that night. Tess was upset when she found out that the tooth fairy would take her tooth, so I suggested that she write the tooth fairy a note, asking if she could keep it.

Here's a picture of her cute note; it says:  Tooth Fairy, Can I keep my tooth but have some money?
The tooth fairy did indeed leave her tooth AND some money, and Tess was as happy as can be.

She is adorable, congrats! I love Tesses toothless grin, they are so cute when they lose teeth.

I could do without the spider pictures, but the rest are great. I love the finger lacing.

Michonne, I just logged on for the first time in awhile and I am so excited for you! She is beautiful. That hair! Bury your face in her neck and take a deep breath for me, would ya?
