Growing up, we would always eat Thanksgiving dinner with grandparents and cousins on Thursday and then my mom would always make a Thanksgiving dinner for our own little family on Sunday, just so we could enjoy all the leftovers. The year that my mom died, I decided to try to follow her tradition and I made the whole meal. It went well but I just decided to leave it to the grandmas every year after that. Well, this year I thought that I'd start up the tradition again with my own little family. I am really not a good cook, and I don't really enjoy cooking very much. (I've always followed the motto that "quick, cheap, & easy" is the best way to cook/eat.) Anyway, I just followed a recipe in my good old red&white checkered cookbook (the classic one that we all have...) and the turkey turned out so yummy! Tess said "this is the goodest turkey I have ever had!" So, I consider that a success. And now we have enough turkey leftovers to get us through Christmas!(Bryan wants me to add that I forgot to take the gizzard and giblets out of the bird, so they sat in there the whole time it cooked. Oops. I told you I'm not a good cook!)

I have done that before too! Anytime I make a turkey now though that has become a "Jeff" job. It grosses me out! I figure if he can pull babies out of a small hole, he can pull the gizzard and gibblets out too! :)
Michonne, you have such a cute blog! I am glad your Thanksgiving was mostly a success.. :)
That is such a cute idea to put all the cute things your sweet kids say on your blog! They are so cute!
Don't underestimate yourself. You are a great cook, you learned from the best! I think that is a really smart idea to have a second dinner on Sunday for your own little family. KUDOS!
