Christmas Break Activities

We definitely had a white Christmas this year!  The snow started on Dec. 23 and came harder on the 24-26.  We took advantage of the new snow with a day of sledding.  We were very glad to learn of an awesome hill that's not too far away.  (We have struggled to find a great hill close by!)  This was called Lomond View park in North Ogden and it was a great long, steep hill.  There were lots of people there, but it didn't seem too crowded.

Bryan was very stylish, decked out in his camo gear, with a beanie and a ball cap on top, with sunglasses on top of all that.  Woowoo!

I love that Bryan gets the week between Christmas and New Year's off work.  There are many holidays throughout the year that he does not get (Veteran's Day, Martin Luther King Day, 24th of July, President's Day, etc.) but he does get this week off and we love it!  We took advantage of a Christmas gift card and went to The Old Spaghetti Factory as a family.  It's one of our very favorite restaurants!

Then we went up to Temple Square.  We first toured the Conference Center, then went over to the Visitors' Center.

Then we went in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and checked out the Family Search area.  They had lots of interesting things to do inside; one of which was to find out more about your ancestors (their places of birth, any family stories, etc).  You could also find out more specifics to your own life--for example, what the current events were the year you were born, how much a gallon of gasoline cost that year, etc.  You could also see how many people in the USA had your name (first and last).  All our names (Terry, Bryan, Tess, Miles, & Bree) were in the tens or hundreds of thousands...but good ol' Michonne had considerably fewer (not surprisingly).  Guess how many Michonnes are in America??    Only 52!  That's it.  Pretty cool!

It was freezing cold that night, so we enjoyed the lights from inside, and then just made a quick walk back to the car and called it good.
