Miles was excited to be chosen to represent Freedom Elementary 3rd grade in the Math & Science Olympiad for the game called Tile Trials. He and his buddy Grant were the best in our school (for their grade) and they did great at the competition. Tile Trials is pretty tricky--they are given 10 tiles (digits 0-9) and then a sheet of paper with different math problems or patterns on them. Each tile must fit in correctly, one time, on the paper. The blanks might be part of the answer or part of the equation. And it is all timed, so speed counts.
They didn't medal this year, but they worked hard and I was very proud of them. Miles wants to try to compete again next year. Way to go, boys!
