Christmas 2012

We had a really wonderful Christmas this year. We spend Christmas Eve with Bryan's family and Christmas day with my family. On Christmas Eve night we opened our jammies and our new family game. We actually got 2 this year: "Hedbanz" and "Blockus" which were both a lot of fun. Here's a pic of us playing Hedbanz in the new jammies. (Am I such a dork that it really irks me that the game is spelled "Hedbanz"...every time I type that I want to correct it!) Anyway, Bree didn't really play, but she sure wanted to wear a headband! (And after her jammies were on, she wanted a shirt on over top of them...whatever.)

The kids got most of the things on their Christmas lists, and here they are with their favorite gifts: Bree is playing with her Little People Zoo, giving the gorilla a swing in the tree; Tess is listening to music on her new iPod; and Miles is driving the dump truck on his new construction site.

Bree pilfered all of the chapsticks from the various stockings and she was holding onto all 3 of them for dear life. She gave us major stink-eye when we tried to take any of them away!

As usual, the day after Christmas was my very favorite day of all. We just relaxed, slept in, didn't leave the house, ate yummy leftovers, didn't worry about any of the big messes, and happily played with all of our new gifts. Ahhhh, bliss.

"Kidisms" (things my kids say that I want to remember)

June 2019

I was chatting with Bryan and Miles, and Bryan happened to do the Dirty Harry line, "Go ahead, make my day." Miles was a little familiar with it, but not quite sure and he asked, "isn't that the cowboy...what's his name, Clive Eastman or something?"

April 2019

We were talking about the stupid name Heinz gave to their new fry sauce ("Mayochup"). I mentioned that I also saw "Mayocue" sauce in the store. Clever Bree said they should sell "Mayoturd." Hahaha!

January 2019

I was helping Bree with her piano song; she is just starting to learn about key signatures, sharps, and flats. She pointed to the sharp sign and wondered about the "hashtag."

Tonight we were chatting and Bryan joked about how he likes "livin' on the edge." Miles said, "Mom likes livin' on the edge too...as long as she has a good book." Haha, that boy knows his mama!

December 2018

We got some Ghirardelli chocolates for a gift and Tess wanted some, but she had a little bout of dyslexia and asked for "ger-da-helli" chocolates. So now when we are bugged with each other, we just say "Ger-da-helli!" to each other.

November 2018

Bryan took the kids to the church to play ball, and Miles was running in the parking lot and tripped right over his feet and biffed it. He stood up, exasperated, and yelled, "I hate these GIGANTIC feet!" Poor guy!

August 2018

Bree was making a "potion" with her friends and proudly came to show me her creation. She said she made "hansitizer" (hand sanitizer) and when I asked the ingredients she said "water, dish soap, poppy seeds, and sriracha!" I'm not so sure that hansitizer would get hands very clean!

July 2018

Bree was packing a bag for a sleepover at G&G T's house and tried to shove a big stuffed animal into her small backpack. It wouldn't fit, and she pulled it out, saying, "Hmmm, she has constipation. She doesn't like being in small, tight spaces." I guess she mixed up claustrophobia with constipation, hahahaha!
